1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit ChargeFind, we automatically collect:
- Location Data: With your permission, we collect your device's location to show nearby charging stations. This is processed locally and not stored on our servers beyond your session unless you explicitly save a location.
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and device type
- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent on site, and interaction patterns
- Log Data: IP address (anonymized after 30 days), access times, and referring URLs
1.3 Information from Third Parties
We aggregate EV charging station data from:
- The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Alternative Fuels Data Center
- Charging network APIs (Tesla, Electrify America, ChargePoint, EVgo, etc.)
- Open-source mapping data (OpenStreetMap)
- User-submitted corrections and updates

While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please use strong passwords and report any suspected security issues.
6. Data Retention
- Account Data: Retained while your account is active, deleted within 30 days of account deletion request
- Reviews: Retained indefinitely as part of the public record unless you request deletion
- Log Data: IP addresses anonymized after 30 days; aggregated logs retained for 2 years
- Location Data: Session-only; not stored unless you save a location
- Analytics: Retained for 2 years in aggregated form
